네이버는 검색 특화 AI에이전트로 사용자의 질문 핵심을 요약·분석해 채팅 형태로 검색결과를 제공하는 서비스다. AI가 정확한 답변을 위해 이용자의 과거 검색 이용기록과 블로그·카페의 전체공개 정보, 성별·연령대 등의 정보를 수집해 이용할 계획인데, 이같은 개인정보 수집과 활용에 대한 사전 적정성 검토를 요청한 것이다.

네이버는 지난 4월 지난 4월 네이버플러스 멤버십 회원을 대상으로 AI탭 베타서비스를 시작한데 이어 6월 중 전체 이용자를 대상으로 정식 서비스를 시작할 계획이다. AI탭은 베타서비스 시작 한 달 만에 누적 사용자 300만명을 돌파하는 등 관심을 모으고 있다.
